The Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) has cleared the results for 10 out of 11 board seats of Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, marking a defining moment in India’s cooperative transport sector. This decision affirms the successful completion of one of the most anticipated cooperative elections in recent years.

The CEA has temporarily withheld the result for Kribhco Managing Director Sundar Singh, who also appeared under the name S.S. Yadav in the nomination documents. The authority has requested a formal clarification from the Returning Officer regarding his eligibility as a delegate, under Rule 19H(5) read with Section 38(3) of the Cooperative Act.

In Class I, where eight seats were open for election, seven distinguished cooperative leaders were elected unopposed. The list includes NAFED Chairman Jethabhai Ahir, GCMMF Managing Director Jayen Mehta, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah, IFFCO Director Prahlad Singh, NCDC Deputy Managing Director Rohit Gupta, NCEL Managing Director Anupom Kaushik, and Ms. Archana Singh.

From Class III, Ms. Anupama Singh of Uttar Pradesh secured her position unopposed, reinforcing the growing presence of women in cooperative leadership.

In the highly contested Class IV category, where 13 candidates competed for just two seats, Dhara Ballabh from Delhi and Kisan Patani from Gujarat emerged as the winners after a spirited electoral race that reflected the cooperative’s democratic strength and transparency.
